POND FRONT PROPERTY - STUNNING GARDENS AND A PRIVATE SMALL ISLAND. This unique and magical property on Looks Pond has fabulous views and one of the grandest gardens on the Vineyard. A property you have to see in person to capture the true essence. As magnificent as all of Martha's Vineyard is, there are special spots that exceed expectations, and this property is one of them. Tucked away off Music Street down a winding road it sits on the edge of Look's Pond. The home is an " Enchanted Cottage" and more enchanting as you walk over a bridge to your private Island. Robbie MacGregor has added another dimension to the property by applying his artistic skills working with natural trees and branches in the construction of the gazebo, trellises and fences. The beautifully designed and manicured gardens are by far West Tisbury's best! The vistas are beautiful and the character of the home fits the environment. The single building includes the main house with an elegant living room and wood burning fireplace, a spacious master bedroom suite overlooking the gardens and the Pond, and an open garden and dining room, with an efficient kitchen to the right. Walk through the magic door into the other section of the house which is a separate apartment with four bedrooms, two baths, and kitchen. Imagine the possibilities of using it all for your family and guests or renting the private separate apartment, as the owners do today.

Jim Wallen

Jim has lived on or visited Martha’s Vineyard beginning at the age of 3 months when my family rented a cottage in Gay Head (Aquinnah). My first memory is the arc of the the three white lights and one red light of the Gay Head light reflecting into my bedroom. My family built a vacation home in Lobsterville in 1956 where I spent most of my childhood summers. After graduating college and a few years in New York I moved to the island form my first winter in 1970. Over the next several years I worked on construction projects, became a yacht delivery captain and shuttled back and forth between this island and various Caribbean ones seasonally, followed by nearly 20 years primarily in the Caribbean sailing, boat building and house building. From 1995 to 2001 I managed an air ambulance company in Nassau, Bahamas. I moved back to Martha’s Vineyard in 2001, built a house in Aquinnah and started a new career in property management. I became an associate at Feiner Real Estate in 2009. I have been married to Kathleen Smith for 30 years and have 2 sons, Nicholas 31 and Zachary, 30.
