“Best Properties on the Market - Homes on the Massachusetts Coast” (The Week Magazine August 3, 2018)... Wind’s Will - Awaken to the sun rising over Nantucket Sound and fall asleep to the water lapping at the shore of Sengekontacket Pond. A pair of 2 bedroom cottages restored to retain their charm and simple carefree style. Summer activities like fishing, clamming, kayaking, paddle boarding and of course swimming and beaching are all at your doorstep and the protected pond is ideal for mooring a boat. With 95' of frontage on Sengekontacket and a private sandy beach, water views from most rooms and an upper viewing deck, this is an offering that shouldn't be missed. A typical day concludes with a fire in the pit beside the water with s’mores and the sun setting over the Pond after a walk through the forest, wetlands, marsh and meadow of the more than 150 acres of walking trails at the nearby Caroline Tuthill Preserve. A true summer camp compound of a time gone by...

Jim Wallen

Jim has lived on or visited Martha’s Vineyard beginning at the age of 3 months when my family rented a cottage in Gay Head (Aquinnah). My first memory is the arc of the the three white lights and one red light of the Gay Head light reflecting into my bedroom. My family built a vacation home in Lobsterville in 1956 where I spent most of my childhood summers. After graduating college and a few years in New York I moved to the island form my first winter in 1970. Over the next several years I worked on construction projects, became a yacht delivery captain and shuttled back and forth between this island and various Caribbean ones seasonally, followed by nearly 20 years primarily in the Caribbean sailing, boat building and house building. From 1995 to 2001 I managed an air ambulance company in Nassau, Bahamas. I moved back to Martha’s Vineyard in 2001, built a house in Aquinnah and started a new career in property management. I became an associate at Feiner Real Estate in 2009. I have been married to Kathleen Smith for 30 years and have 2 sons, Nicholas 31 and Zachary, 30.
